What is Problem Based Learning and is it effective? My research looked at improved performance in the context of increased concept retention, increased engagement, and increased ability to use the information in an open-ended or problem-solving context. This research was done in a 6th-grade math classroom but can be applied to any subject or grade level in which projects or problem-solving is important. This could include science, social studies, or English. Come talk about how to make projects work for students, increase their conceptual abilities, and increase their enjoyment and engagement of material!
