Have you ever wondered the relevance of teaching a variety of math strategies to 1st grade students and contemplated if learning automaticity with facts assists in mastering basic math skills? If you are interested in learning a variety of math strategies and learning the effectiveness of continually practicing math facts in an effective and efficient way then this may be the session just for you. This action research implementation and results of data was driven and taught in a first grade classroom; therefore the strategies are simplified and basic while meeting the needs for those in their early years and/or primary age group. It is my intent to provide materials and ideas that are easily adaptable and ready for classroom utilization.
