Social emotional learning has become one of the newest buzzwords in education and SEL has been added to the long list of educational acronyms. But does social emotional learning really provide benefits in the classroom? If you are interested in learning more about SEL and its impact on your classroom culture then this session is for you! We will talk about how SEL can be integrated into your classroom without it seeming like one more thing you have to add on. Morning meeting has been a wonderful time to weave in these skills. Come ready to share some of your own experiences with social emotional learning. My goal is for you to leave this session with a better understanding of the SEL competencies, how implementing SEL can positively impact your relationships with and between students, and ultimately create a stronger community of learners. I am hopeful that you will leave this session with a few resources and strategies that you can use in your classroom.
