How might positive behavior interventions and supports (PBIS) influence self and social awareness in my first grade classroom? Is your school working to implement PBIS, SEL, or both? I researched positive behavior interventions and supports and how they might help students become more aware of themselves and others around them. I focused my research on proactive strategies, emotion, behavior, and positivity. These four concepts drove my research and application into my first grade classroom and could apply to your elementary classroom as well. Come ready to share some of your own experiences with behavior in your classroom and how you incorporate PBIS into your classroom.
