It is important to provide opportunities that keep students engaged in their learning. Authentic learning opportunities, such as project-based learning, can be used to help show students that what they are learning about is relevant and meaningful to their lives. Project-based learning is a student-centered teaching approach that allows students to collaborate and learn content through solving real-world problems in the form of projects. My implementation of project-based learning was conducted in my 5th grade classroom; specifically focusing on the subject of math. While this strategy was implemented in a 5th grade classroom, project-based learning can be used for numerous grade levels and a variety of subject areas. Join us for an open dialogue where we can discuss fresh ways to keep our students excited and engaged in the classroom!
