Is there a time in your day when you struggle with student engagement? Are you having a hard time finding time to differentiate? Do you use choice boards in your classroom? If any of these questions caught your attention, this may be the seminar for you. Choice boards are a simple strategy that teachers can use in any subject area. Choice boards will empower students to showcase their knowledge through an activity that best fits their learning style. Although the teacher specifies which activities the student will choose from, the students can grow in their self-awareness while finding activities that work for them. I have been excited about my research and implementation of choice boards. They have been a fun and easy way to add another layer to my core curriculum. In this session, I will walk through how my students first explored their learning styles and used that knowledge to complete the choice boards. I implemented the boards during WIN time but these truly can be used in any discipline area. If you are ready to keep students engaged, build stronger relationships, promote independence, and help find strengths through personalization, join my session!
